Christmas is a joyful time of the year – but it is really even more special when you can give to others and with your help we changed a village’s day for the better. Everyone was involved the mothers, the daughters, the sons and the dads – how wonderful to bring together a village and help in such a practical way.

the little girls in their new dresses… the little girl at the front in blue has a teddy in her hand that we included and we popped in headbands too

the mothers are holding up their necklace gift – and I love their smiles – they often miss out on any gifts – it is lovely to give them a little something
With the help of Sue Haviv, she and I have been cutting dresses for people to sew. Sue loves the smaller cross over ones and sews many of them herself – while I cut the larger ones with the flutter sleeves. Each one is put together in a pack for the ladies to sew with everything (including undies) so it is easy and quick. These dresses were sewn by a number of Canberra ladies and I am so grateful.
I put out the call for school supplies and had many donations – in particular from Yvette who ran a function and asked people to bring supplies along. As I packed the box I layered the school supplies – pencils, erasers, scissors and sharpeners among the dresses.
Then I went to my supply for my market stall and found 12 necklaces with pendants so I wrapped them up as gifts for the ladies.
And lastly I popped in a gift for Lubna – who does great work in coordinating the who donation into the areas most at need. I love these pics of her …. such joy!
Merry Christmas Pakistan – we will continue to support you next year too as well as other countries.
Bless you
Carol and the Canberra Sewing Ladies, their friends and donors
