On Tuesday the dresses for Kiisi Kenya will be finalised – 16 dresses in all through the Global School Partners and the CEO Simon Caroll. This is the webpage
We are grateful to Global School Partners for finding an orphanage in Kenya which has such need and that as importantly we are able to assist. It is a time of the year when things are ramping up and getting busy with holidays here – yet the sewers are still getting it done and it is a testament of what can be achieved by a few women (if you would like to join us to sew we would love to have you help us… it works around your busy lives please take a look at the side bar for more information). Heartfelt thanks to you all!! Pics to follow.
So we are now moving towards Tanzania – with the Amani Kids Foundation. This amazing foundation gets street kids off the streets and HIV orphans into its care. Here is their webpage
From the Amani Kids webpage – For over 15 years, Amani Children’s Home has been dedicated to the protection of Tanzania’s most vulnerable population: street children. Amani, which means “peace” in Swahili, was founded by Tanzanians, and over the course of the past decade has rescued more than 1,200 children from the perils of life on the streets, where they face numerous dangers including malnutrition and abuse. Amani provides healthy food, education, counseling and medical care for every street child who turns to us for help. When possible, children are reunified with (extended) families.
We have 26 dresses to make for the girls in their care – ages 1.5 years to 12years and thank you everyone for your kind donations of fabric and funds towards fabric. Last night the coordinator Gideon got back to me and was delighted to know that the boys are not missing out – we are sewing shorts for them and sending t shirts and undies too. I will also be asking for school supplies donations.
With that in mind we have a bit of money to raise as our postage kitty is now down to $40. So I have popped up the links to where we can raise the funds – remember $10 is fantastic ….. give what you can if you can. All money raised goes towards the costs of getting these clothes to Tanzania – no admin fees at all, every donation is fully used for it’s expressed purpose.

Happy New Year everyone – and thank you for your amazing kind support.
